Overview

 Unwind in the hills of Caminho do Monte on our Quinta d’Alegria Madeira Villa Holiday.

One of our favourite three bedroom villas on the island, Quinta d’Alegria sits high above Madeira’s bustling capital city Funchal. The quinta’s spacious private garden, outdoor pool and sensational panoramic ocean view make this the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the island’s famous south-coast sunshine. And three large bedrooms and a super-sociable open-plan lounge/diner/kitchen make Quinta d’Alegria ideal for a getaway with family and friends.

Airport transfers are included as standard and we’ll arrange for a hire car to be delivered to your door. Funchal’s excellent selection of friendly restaurants, cafe bars and shops are a short drive away, and it’s easy to personalise your holiday by adding a few of our favourite activities.

Direct flights are also included in our Madeira Villa Holidays. We remove the stress from booking flights by finding you the best deal from your closest airport. We include all the luggage you’ll need so there are no nasty surprises or extras to pay at the airport, and we’ll select the best available seats for you in advance.

Itinerary

Day 1

You'll begin your holiday with a flight to Madeira. Our driver will collect you from your flight, for your transfer into Funchal.

Day 2

We’ll deliver a hire car so you can begin exploring Funchal - the Avenida do Mar, the Se Cathedral and Blandy's Wine Lodge. It’s a short drive to the tropical gardens at Monte Palace, were you can ride a Carro de Cesto – the famous wicker toboggans which run down the steep streets of Caminho do Monte.

Day 3

You might like to include a Whale and Dolphin watching trip during your stay. Madeira’s one of the best places in Europe to see bottlenose dolphins and sperm whales.

Day 4

You could explore the Lamaceiros Forest Trails on horseback – we offer a selection of peaceful rides through the island’s laurisilva forests which are suitable for beginners and experts alike.

Day 5

Spend a day exploring the high mountains and beautiful coastlines of eastern Madeira – the high peaks of Pico do Arieiro, the forest park at Ribeiro Frio and the Sao Lourenco peninsula.

Day 6

Take a drive through the coves and bays of Madeira’s south coast - visit the famous skywalk at Cabo Girao and the secluded Curral das Freiras Nun’s Valley.

Day 7

You might like to include a guided canyoning session, abseiling down cascading waterfalls and gullies of the Lomba das Faias forest. You could end the day in Porto Moniz - one of the best swimming spots on the island.

Day 8

You'll return your hire car to the airport before flying home.
